Chantal, el bobo, y punto.... Chantal... silly about weaving!

They call her Chantal although that´s not her real name. We only know that in her free time she strolls through the streets with her feet on the ground and a head full of birds. One day her hands began to weave dreams and leave "Tweeties" of colors at every step she took ...That´s how she introduces herself in her blog: The garter stitch of Chantal.Today in nualan we are going to know her a little more.

Her name is Sandra y her training has nothing to do with the world of design, she studied geology, but she has always been interested in this world, starting with her blog, just one year ago that she starting telling what she is doing, while leaving a window open to her own life...: - "I do not mind doing it, I think the way each of us write define us, so you're letting other people know something about you ..."

- "In the end I ended up putting aside the geology for a period of time unexpected ..."

At first she got more interested in headgear, in fact one of her most special works that she stores in her memory with special affection is something she made for a friend of his mother, but when her mother and grandmother taught her to knit, she discover the possibility of stitching: - "I started with a scarf to get to a sweater and I still have scarves on the needles. I try to give a twist to the usual scarf experimenting with various accessories such as large loops, satin, buttons ..."

It is very obvious to say that you are working with wool, but which wool? : - "I try to buy them in typical wool stores , those which are few ..."

What she more likes about this world of crafts and blogs is the ability to know the work of others ... and get to create a special bond with some of them: - "Thanks to this, I met Grossomodo and their desire to weave until we got together, week after week ,and decided to mount a parallel project to both ... “Black oveja” in which apart from hand knitting commissions we have also begun with a workshop on knitting machine and we start testing with the small world ... "

Remember that on one occasion she had to reject the commission of a girl who was getting married and wanted as a gift for the guests a scarf for each ... "too much knitting for too few hands...”

We asked her about Chantal and the garter stitch (fool stitch in Spanish),: - "Chantal ... because previously I had a blog named Chantal & Chateaubriand ... and garter stitch because it was the only stitch I could make and I found the combination very funny. “Because there is something fool about all of us...”

She confesses her weakness for Grossomodo, Caterina Pérez and Anna Emilia.
And her wish: “I would like to continue weaving by hand, that orders keep coming, even if is slowly, like until now. And that when someone puts on a “chantalina” or any other garment, they can imagine those times where there wasn´t more shelter than that home-knitted, so it can be much more appreciated...”

Now you already know half of Black Oveja.
